Qualifications: Reporting to the Head of Discovery Chemistry at Biocon-BMS R &D Center, Bangalore, India, this position will oversee part of the Med. Chem. activities at R &D Center in Bangalore, India. The selected individual will build the group through recruiting talented staff with diverse skill sets, equipping the laboratories, providing adequate training and direction, and developing joint strategic objectives for Med. Chem programs working closely with Head of Discovery Chemistry and other leaders at BBRC. The group will eventually comprise approximately 30 to 60 scientists with skills in synthesis of medicinally active compounds based on the principles of organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms; innovative designs of target structures based on the fundamental understanding of the drug target mechanism, structure activity and structure toxicity relationships as part of the lead development and lead optimization.
