WHO is the directing and
coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is
responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the
health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating
evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and
monitoring and assessing health trends.

Purpose of the Position
Contribute to implementation of WHO's Country Cooperation Strategy with the Government of India by supporting the work of the WHO Country Office for India in the area of Health Financing and Health Systems strengthening with a view to help the Government of India further develop appropriate policies, strategies and interventions and move towards Universal Health Coverage.

Education:
Essential: Advanced University degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or Economics.
Desirable:
Post graduate degree in Health Economics, Health Policy or Social Sciences for

Experience:
Essential: At least 10 years of work experience with progressive responsibility in policy analyses and advice as well as technical assistance to countries, including capacity building; and, contribution to normative work to support country policy and technical assistance.
