M S Swaminathan Research Foundation has an opening for Project Fellow in coastal System research
Designation : One Project Fellow (Agriculture/Agronomy/Life Sciences) in  DST supported project on “ Seawater farming as the adaptive capacity for coastal community ”
  • Job Description : The candidate will have to work on the project implementation in the coastal villages in East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. The project work offers challenging opportunity of cultivation of halophytes as alternate crops for oil, fodder, firewood in the saline affected soils using seawater irrigation. The project provides excellent opportunity for young men and women to work with the coastal communities. The candidate has to implement activities such as agronomy and cultivation practices of halophytes and its management, conducting controlled experimental plots and field trials.  The candidate should have interest and commitment to work jointly with the multiple stakeholders particularly poor coastal communities and the government departments.
  • Essential Qualification : Masters degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Life Science from any recognized University.  Familiarity in speaking and understanding of Telugu is essential.
  • Desirable :  work experience in agriculture and agronomy, participatory work with the community and skill in data collection, processing and analysis. Proficiency in computer use skills. 
  • Duration : The tenure of appointment is for about 36 months with immediate effect. MSSRF has a policy to retain and re-employ promising candidates to promote their career advancement.
  • Location : Kakinada, East Godavari District
  • Salary : Up to Rs 18,000 /month (consolidated, depending on suitability of candidate).

Biotech Industrial Training Programme (BITP) 2011-12 for North Eastern state sponsored by DBT



  • Department of Biotechnology (DBT) invites applications from students in biotechnology for practical training in biotech companies for a period of six months.
  • Stipend of Rs 8000/- pm will be paid to selected candidates.
  • The programme is being implemented by BIOTECH CONSORTIUM INDIA LIMITED (BCIL). The objective of BITP is to provide industrial exposure to students to improve job prospects and to help biotech industry to identify prospective manpower.
Eligibility : Students with B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc/M.Tech in Biotechnology, Bioinformtaics from a recognized Universities in North Eastern States or with domicile of North Eastern States
