Invitation for SRF in the CSIR Emeritus Scientist Scheme in National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI)

CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier plant science research institute, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible and interested candidates are invited for the purely temporary positions of SRF in the CSIR Emeritus Scientist Scheme entitled "Assessment of Bryophyte diversity documentation and validation of traditional knowledge in North East hills" tenable at NBRI:

Post: Senior Research Fellow
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in Botany/Plant Science/Environmental Science and two years post M.Sc. research experience as evidenced by good research publications.
Desirable: Experience in taxonomy, herbarium management and ethnobotany.
Stipend: Rs. 14000/-p.m.+ HRA
Date & Venue of Interview: On 24-01-2014 at 11:30 AM in the Conference Room, (T.N. Kushoo Block) NBRI, Lucknow.

a) Upper age limit not exceeding 32 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates 05 years and OBC candidates 03 years as per Government of India instructions.

b) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date 30 minutes before the scheduled time for necessary formalities.

c) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turns up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions will be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview, a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee.

d) The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co- terminus with the sponsored projects. Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.

e) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for floating interview
No TA/DA will be admissible.



Wanted Research Associate or Senior Research Fellow in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

The bill for the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru University was placed in the Rajya Sabha on September 1, 1965 by the then Education Minister, Mr M.C. Chagla. The JNU Bill was passed in Lok Sabha on 16th November 1966 and the JNU Act came into force on 22nd April, 1969.

10. Cut-Offs (Minimum Qualifying Marks) on Objective tests or/and interview as the case may be will be decided by Selection Committee.

12. The mode of selection for posts shall be interview subject to the applicants are less than ten for each given post. However, if ratio of sanctioned post and applicants exceeds more than 1:10 (subject to the minimum of 50 applicants); the mode of selection will be written examinations followed by interview with weightage of 85% and 15% respectively and also thereafter skill test where applicable.
13. No TA/DA shall be admissible for appearing in the Written Test or Interview.
