Qualification & Experience: The ideal candidate should have a Ph. D in any area of Life Sciences with at least one year of postdoctoral research experience in the area of studying host-pathogen interactions in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections. Demonstrated expertise in handling clinical and drug-resistant strains of the pathogen, and analyzing host-pathogen interactions through techniques such as mass spectrometry and electron microscopy is an essential requirement. Familiarity with the tools of Systems Biology will also be preferred. Candidate must have the ability to work in a team and yet think independently. Excellent communication skills both oral and written are desirable.

Qualification & Experience:
• M. Sc in Chemistry, or related field
• 2-3 Years’ experience on characterizing chemical and physical properties of organic and/or biomolecules
• Demonstrated proficiency of MS word, Excel, Power point and other commonly used web-based bioinformatics tools.
Job Description: Laboratory technicians working in the Chemical Analysis laboratory will be required to perform measurements to characterize the chemical (Protein and small molecules), physical and biological properties of bio- and organic molecules using the following techniques:
(a) Mass Spectrometry – LC/MS, GC/MS, MALDI-TOF
(b) Evaporative sample preparation techniques
(c) Infrared spectroscopy – static and mobile platforms
(d) Chromatography – ion, gas, liquid

Opening for Junior Research Fellow in a RGSTC sponsored project at ICTM

The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was established as the Department of Chemical Technology on 1st October, 1933 by the University of Mumbai, through active support of industries and philanthropists. The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, Mumbai. Research has been an integral part of ICT since its inception and it has created over 500 first generation entrepreneurs. The UDCT grew significantly in stature and was granted autonomy under UGC regulations by the University of Mumbai and further converted in to an Institute on 26th January, 2002. Under the World Bank TEQIP programme, the Maharashtra government granted it full autonomy in June 2004. Due to the recommendations of the Government of Maharashtra and University of Mumbai, the ICT was granted Deemed University Status by the MHRD on 12th September, 2008, with all provisions of the UGC for funding and support as the state owned deemed university.
