The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an Autonomous Body, set up under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare primarily with the objective of periodically updating of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, the book of standards for the drugs; the National Formulary of India, the book of reference on the drugs; and other related tasks such as preparing, certification and distribution of Reference Substances; assist the National Pharmacovigilance Programme; testing of the new drugs and review of Technical dossier of Drugs for purpose of monograph development for the Indian Pharmacopoeia. It promotes rational use of medicines through generic prescriptions. The IPC is on path of evolving as a modern scientific institution.

Educational Qualification & Experience: 
Essential: Post Graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Bio-chemistry / Biotecnology / Chemistry / Pharmacology / Microbiology from a recognized University.
Experience: i) 7 years of experience in the area of Pharmaceuticals; ii) Research experience in the relevant field with support of paper(s) published.
Desirable – i) Ph.D. in any of the related fields; ii) Research experience in the relevant field with support of paper(s) published; iii) Good knowledge of computer application.

Scientific Assistant

Pay Band & Grade Pay: Rs. 9300 – 34800 Grade Pay Rs. 4200
Age: Age limit is 30 years (age relaxation for SC/ST is five years and three years for OBC).

Educational Qualification & Experience: 
Essential: Post Graduate degree in Pharmacy/ Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Bio-Chemistry from a recognized University.
Experience: One year experience in 1) chemical/physiochemical testing and analysis of drugs or 2) review of Technical Dossier of Drugs or 3) pharmacovigilance.
Desirable: Good knowledge of computer applications.

GENERAL INFORMATION

2. The posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government employees of corresponding status.
3. Qualification is relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority in case of candidates who deserving and exceptionally qualified. Experience can also be relaxed at the discretion of the competent authority in case adequate number of applications from candidates with requisite experience is not available.
4. The competent authority reserves the right to reject any/or all applications received for the post without assigning any reason.

Opportunity for Senior Scientific Officer (12 posts), Medical Superintendent (1 post) in Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute


Director, Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata invites applications for recruitment to the under mentioned posts. Candidates having medical qualifications may note that the posts are strictly non-practicing posts and persons appointed to these posts are entitled to non-practicing allowances.

The CNCI is an autonomous organization under the administrative control of Government of India, Ministry of Health & FW and functions as Regional Cancer Centre. It has facilities for modern cancer treatment with 200 indoor beds and state of the art facilities for advanced cancer research.

Post: Medical Superintendent, Senior Scientific Officer, Gr.II

Post No. 1 Medical Superintendent : 1(one) post (UR)

Educational and other qualification: Essential – (1)(a) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second schedule or part II of the Third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also full fill the conditions stipulated in subsection (3) of Section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956;  (b) Post Graduate/doctorate Degree or its equivalent qualification in any clinical / preclinical discipline
OR
Master of Hospital Administration’ from a recognized Institute / University. (2) 10 years experience in responsible capacity in a recognized hospital of which at least 5 years should be administrative experience.
Age limit - Not exceeding 50 years.
Pay Band Rs. 37,400-67,000 + Grade Pay Rs.8700/- . The post carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government employees of similar status posted in Kolkata.

Post  -2 : Senior Scientific Officer, Gr.II : Twelve (12) posts (SC– 1, OBC-3,UR-8

Educational and other qualification: Essential – Same as(1)(a) required for the post of Medical Superintendent.
OR
Master’s degree in Biological Science / Biochemistry / Physics / Biophysics / Organic Chemistry / Pharmacology / Epidemiology / Physiology / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology etc. from recognized University.
(2) M.D. or Ph.D in relevant subject.
Age limit - Not exceeding 35 years.
Pay Band Rs. 15600-39,100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400/- . The posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government employees of similar status posted in Kolkata. The exact qualification will be decided at the time of each selection by the competent authority.

Age is relaxable by 5 years for SC and 3 years for OBC candidates for the posts reserved for them. Age is also relaxable for Government servants upto 5 years in accordance with the instruction or orders of the Government of India. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be closing date for receipt of application.
